September: Embracing Curiosity

A month of deepening your practice through wonder, self-study, and connection.

Why Curiosity Matters

This month, we're diving into one of yoga's most powerful teachings: curiosity as a lived practice. On the mat. In your life. Every single day.

You can’t help but notice that nowadays we're living in a time of real disconnection. Echo chambers. Silos. People talking past each other instead of to each other. And curiosity? Curiosity breaks right through all of that. It keeps us young. It keeps us engaged. It keeps us connected - to ourselves, to each other, to what actually matters.

In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali gives us the Eight Limbs of Yoga, and right there at the beginning are the Niyamas - personal observances about how we show up for ourselves. One of them is Svadhyaya: self-study. Gentle, curious observation of who you are and how you move through the world.

When you shift from judgment to curiosity - when you ask yourself "What am I learning here?" instead of "Am I doing this right?" - something genuinely changes. You stop performing and instead you become closer to yourself.

So this month, let's practice curiosity together. Not as a concept, but an act of kindness and deep connection toward yourself, towards others and to the world.

Niyamas: Self-Study (Svadhyaya)

One of yoga's core teachings. This month, we'll explore how curiosity deepens your connection to all layers of yourself—from your physical body to your soul.

Connection

Curiosity connects us to ourselves, to each other, and to something greater. A practice grounded in genuine interest transforms everything.

Beginner's Mind

Even in familiar poses, we approach each practice fresh. Drop the need for perfection and lean into wonder instead.

Breaking Patterns

Without curiosity, we repeat old habits. With it, we shine light on autopilot responses and create freedom.

What You'll Explore This Month

Each class will focus on cultivating curiosity in different ways:

  • How curiosity shows up in your body

  • Releasing self-judgment and leaning into wonder

  • Connecting to sensation without needing to fix anything

  • Using curiosity to stay young, resilient, and brave
